Decided to include some people to the photos. Tell me what do u think?

wheeeww, there's a lot more complication in getting the shots with people than taking buildings or landscapes. At one point I even got an uncle angry. However, at other times, it allowed me to talk to complete strangers in such friendly manner like I was a child.

However, I do want to get some comment from the viewers after a tiring journey started out very different than it ended. Cheers to all.

love the lovely dovey!!!! great shots ere. im using nikon d50. Just a beginner mate..still lots more to learn Tue 7-Nov-2006 16:32

Why use dslr when you can take with a prosumer compact camera?

I spot metred for this effect

While I was taking photos, today a friend asked me the above question. I showed him some shutter speed settings, some photos in magazines and yet a compact with manual settings should be able to deliver the same types of shots.

Shutter lag.....I thought that will shut him up. A compact surely has it. But shutter lag and how to overcome it depends to a certain extent on the photographer. Even with a dslr, one can miss decisive moments. Prosumer cams have minimal shitter lags these days.

So my final answer to my friend was, dslr takes shots just as a prosumer camera. If the prosumer result was sharp, dslr=sharper, if the prosumer was fast, dslr=faster, Sounds like a good argument to me. Welll that is , until I reviewed my shots. I made day light turned to dusk light and made water into "silk". Made clouds stand out from sky. But for the rest, I guess a prosumer can take it as good as any dslr.

ya lorrr... what ever it is.. whic ever is better .. i think depand on hand quality.. even 'noting' scene can be nice to look if creat by artistic hand like u..
i like all those pict .. espclly that 1 sec exposure..

To "unamed" : shots were at lake garden. Look for the shots and its all there

To ScHoePenToeTer , thanks for the complement. Inspiring words yet generously said.

no point comparing and justifying between a DSLR and prosumer as shots from a prosumer can be manipulated to be on par or better than the DSLR's with photoshop =p. just continue taking the great shots you do...your pictures will speak for itself. cheers bro!! Fri 3-Nov-2006 01:36

Hi again, I took the opputunity to congratulate my new NIKON D70s friend, by sharing (with all also). I hope to be able to share "composition examples" . Not being a pro allows people like myself to see things "out-of- the-box" . Means we do what most magazine tells us and from pros alike. Here's what i always remember. Not too detail but enough for me to set up my composition.

Care to comment?

Finaaaaannnlllllyy. Haze clears up. Good moments to take some shots with the "2PL". Great invention and big "thank you" to the inventor (for technical know-how). My photos were dedicated to the inventor because without it, what shots will I deliver?

One another note, money well spent. My canon friend just got himself a lense I like. Looks too good on the canon 400D body. My new lense costed so much as well. But what a lense. Just glad he committed with me on this. Now, we really got serious.

I hope you enjoy this. Tell me what u think. I want some feedback...serious....not joking....

Cool !!
Amazed with the photos...
Nice + Nice + Nice.....
Which photo is with '2PL'?

Feedbacks, Well, clear blue skies gave contrast to white clouds with "The 2PL". Reflections (cas) was removed, as well. You'll notice the sky colour is different. Darker blue with more constrast. Else its been adjusted on the 2PL to retain the light blue but less constrast." I am confused too " Fri 27-Oct-2006 19:22

Putrajaya haze night shot-(happy Deepa-Raya to all)

Night shots only, hope you enjoy, ohhhh...The photos will look dark and gloomy @ thumbnail image size but a whole different look appears, when enlarged (click onto thumbnail to enlarge). The haze has also made the shot slighty "noisy". Beyond mere mortal control, so bear with me.

Hmm...my opinion: can see the noise on few photos. Photo #4, would be more interesting if can slightly highlight the sky.
I love the last two shots, architectural photography, Nice!!
Gambate..

thank you for the comments. The noise was due to some haze present. The camera NR (noise reduction) was not used. In any case, the noise was not that *significant* on other posting (refer KLCC posting). Conclude, should be the haze on this particular outing. Will try with NR -switched ON. thanks again. This is Melaka, Got here for the Zoo,I am impressed. This zoo is really friendly with lots of trees and not so hot environment. Enjoy the photos posted.

Jonker Street was a great experience. Food was good and affordable. Architecture of late baba-nyonya style was perfect for nostalgia shots. I resisted the urge to shot in black and white photos. Relying on colours to express the mood that presented itself. As evening appraches, the colours in the pictures hopefully gave viewers something to reflect and appreciate. Spotlights and neon lights lit the evening surroundings for some photography oppurtunity

Parting words, unfortunately these photos were edited with PS but no croppings, I had to use them because I changed my in-camera settings and colours were not as saturated as I had hoped for. I also added a CLP and played with "motion blur" . Additional duty to look for the better angles all the while. Hopefully this adds to my practising experience.

kewl.. terselit2 unsur keindahan alam kat sini ...
